Dwell on Design 2011 trip report

June 25, 2011

Got the opportunity to go to Dwell On Design with a few co-workers yesterday. Here is a bit of what we saw. More pics at my Tumblr.

We all thought Molo had the best booth of the show. Simple yet stunning. It’s right up front so you can’t miss it.

Their Softwall collapsible furniture, room dividers and lights made from a honeycomb paper-like material. Similar to decorations you find at party stores, but way stronger. In white, paper-bag brown, and black.

A beautiful light sculpture from a Japanese artist.

A modern chicken coop, with real chickens inside.

A Japanese artist wrapped skateboards-decks, trucks, and wheels-in traditional fabric. Very cool. More pics of these on the tumblr.

I’ll post more pics this weekend, and I’m heading back to the show on Sunday with the family to get more pics.

It’s definitely worth a visit. Definitely investigate if you are eligible for a free trade or student pass. It can save a lot of money.
