Alex Ross: Heroes and Villians
Back in my high school and college days, I read a lot of comics. Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, etc. I didn’t discriminate. One of my favorite artists was Alex Ross. He has a photo-realistic style that just portrays these superheroes in an iconic light. It didn’t hurt that one of his artistic influences was Norman Rockwell, another favorite of mine.
The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh just opened an exhibit titled Heroes And Villians, which showcases Alex’s work as well as a few pieces of Rockwell and other artists that Alex admired. The show will travel to the Norman Rockwell Museum once it closes in Pittsburgh.
