Dedegumo Watches Lookbook

March 11, 2012

Came across Dedegumo Watches while browsing at my local The Earnest Sewn Co. store. The watch brand is out of Japan–Kyoto to be exact–and each watch is hand-crafted by an artisan from start to finish. The artisans ply their craft in a workspace carved out of the store, visible to customers. The brand has 3 stores in Kyoto and one in New York City, and in the U.S. the watches are also available at Bergdorf Goodman Men and Earnest Sewn stores. The watches come for men and women, and range from $350 to $650.

In my opinion, stylistically the watches walk right down the middle of Eclectic Avenue, pausing to look in the window of the Steampunk Shoppe and the neighboring She’s Making Jewelry Now store, but never going in either and just strolling down the avenue. The men’s watches are a little chunky and rugged, while the women’s are a little softer, especially with the ribbon straps.
