Rear Window Timelapse

April 4, 2012

Artist Jeff Desom created this amazing time lapse video of Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window (1954), condensing most of the movie down to a few minutes. Because most of the film takes place from one perspective looking through an apartment window out to the surrounding buildings, it was possible for Desom to stitch together various shots into one wide panorama. Rear Window is one of my top 5 favorite films and this just puts a smile on my face–definitely watch it if you have never seen it. It’s worth it.

Scroll down below the video to see a few stills that Desom has on his site, though do visit his site to see them at full size, and you can see how the movie was projected and where it was installed.
