Unnecessary Wants: Feit Australia footwear

February 14, 2013

Feit (sounds like fight) is an Australian footwear and accessories company based in Sydney. It was founded by brothers Tull and Josh Price back in 2005. Prior to that, Tull had founded sneaker brand Royal Elastics, which he led until 2004. Now he divides his time between Feit and a partnership with Rag & Bone. Josh operates the business out of the Sydney flagship store.

The company crafts completely handmade footwear, using no machinery and each shoe is made from a single piece of Italian vegetable-dyed leather. Shoes only have a single seam along the heel to help with comfort and fit. Boots are made with Goodyear Welt construction and sneakers have a modified Goodyear construction–glue is never used.

The sneakers come in limited editions, though a variety of colors. Needless to say, this kind of high-quality, limited edition product doesn’t come cheap. Prices start around $361 for certain colors and materials in low tops and go up from there. Think of these as Uncommon Projects.
